Getting started
Working on your first case
Every case in Pontiq moves through the same pipeline: Inbox → Accepted → In production → Completed → Shipped. This guide walks the full path with an example.
1. Open the case in the inbox
New cases land automatically in the universal inbox — whether they come from Medit Link, the Pontiq demo connection, manual upload or email intake. Every case shows:
- Practice or sender and patient (pseudonymized, depending on the source)
- Arrival date and source (scanner cloud, upload, email)
- Attached scan files (STL/PLY), viewable directly in the 3D viewer
Open the case and inspect the scans in the 3D viewer — rotate, zoom and measure without downloading anything.
2. Accept the case
Click Accept to turn the case into an order. You define:
- Work type: e.g. crown, bridge, splint, model
- Material and shade: manually or via AI extraction from the practice's order notes
- Due date: Pontiq sorts your production by due date
3. Plan production
Choose a template (e.g. "Monolithic crown") — it creates the production steps automatically. Steps can be assigned to team members; everyone sees their work on the team board.
4. Complete and ship
Once all steps are done, the order switches to Completed. Generate the delivery note and, if needed, the declaration of conformity as PDFs with one click. Mark the order as Shipped — done.
Tip: Orders and documents are never deleted in Pontiq, regardless of plan. Only the retention of large scan files depends on the plan.
